When we start the manufacturing process it is important to understand that this is a highly specialized process. Meticulous measurements must be taken and a mold must be taken in order to provide us with the basis for your new limb. Excellent cooperation and communication between you, the patient, and me, the prosthetist, is crucial for a successful outcome.

Sometimes several fittings are required to ensure that you receive the most comfortable, supportive and lightweight device. Patience is the key, and understanding this is helpful to all of us. At our first meeting, I will explain each step of the process to you and answer all your questions thoroughly. I am here to help you complete your rehabilitative experience with us in the most supportive, empathetic and compassionate way possible.

I also understand that when a new client comes to me for an artificial limb, the client’s family or friends may be involved, because they have a sincere interest in their loved one’s medical problems. I am very sensitive to that fact and am always happy to include everyone in the process.
